Structure

Each session has a technical, individual component with learning outcomes from warm-up to scrimmage.

ZOOMEDUCATION - Academy Education

(Team tactics and tactical components, with trainer)

  • Session to re-cap what the players have retained and what was being taught to them.

  • How the session applies to the game.

PRE-SEASON

  • Pre-Season team camps are highly encouraged. This program can start in the last week of July and continue until the Fall season starts. Pre-season will focus on conditioning, tactical components as to how the team will play in the fall; defense, building out of the back, building through the middle and set pieces. Each day will focus on fitness and one tactical component, that will overlap into the next day. For example, the first day is defending in the first third. The second day will start with that tactical component and build from that.

TEAM BUILDING

  • Pre-season team building activities are essential in the development and goal settings for a team going into a long season. Although team building activities should continue during the season, a good way to start the season is by having an understanding and a goal setting meeting.

SCRIMMAGES (Pre-Season)

  • Inter-club scrimmages are a way to work on a club culture. Get players to get to know each other and compete against each other. Also, a good way to gauge the development of the teams and what they are learning. Focusing on game situations while working on the things worked during the sessions. When the season comes, you have worked on the small details.

UNIFORM

  • A practice uniform would be ideal to identify the club as a unit. If we have practice shirts double sided to alleviate pinnies but also for marketing and advertising. Can be part of the overall package for the year, to purchase the practice shirt.

PARENT INCLUSION

  • PTL also has basic training classes for parents who want to be more invested with the learning of the game. Along with different inclusive nights where the kids teach their parents some skill moves. These nights can be discussed further along in the program.
